Matthew Colbert Blocha is a Native American film-composer, producer and engineer based in Los Angeles, CA. Blocha is best known for collaborating with composer John Murphy and director James Gunn on box office films such as Superman (2025), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023) and The Suicide Squad (2021).

In addition, Blocha is credited on hit shows such as Castlevania (2017-2021) and Vikings (2017-2020). From 2020 to 2023, Blocha wrote for the video game “Banishers: Ghost of New Eden”.

Born in South Florida to a Muscogee (Creek) mother and Canadian father, Blocha grew up skateboarding and playing in bands in the 2010s Florida music scene, spending summers with family back in Oklahoma. Shortly after his move to Hollywood, he began working as a runner at Hans Zimmer’s Remote Control Studios under composers Henry Jackman and laterTrevor Morris. 

“Matty” enjoys fishing, traveling, going to concerts and sports teams the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Manchester City. Currently he operates a home studio in Hollywood, CA where he lives with his girlfriend and 2 cats, Tortellini and Rocket.
